Maya Strauss (she/her) is a lighting & projections designer from Baltimore specializing in developing new works in theater & dance. Her background as a stage manager & dramaturg gives her a love of world-building, collaboration, and intensive research, as well as love for a well organized spreadsheet!
Recent work includes lighting design for a festival of five new plays at The Flea ("Fresh Ink" presented by The Mechanicals Theater Company), lighting programming for Indy 500 broadcasts, concert lighting design for Lip Critic, Greg Mendez, and Bleary Eyed, and lighting & projections design for the inugural season of student-written plays at Rutgers University.
Maya also works as an assistant, EOS programmer, and draftsperson. Her experience spans concerts, fashion, live events, film, and architectural installs. When not working, she likes to sew, hike, and do anything at all soccer related.
Maya is currently local to NYC & Baltimore.
She is looking for work as an assistant/DMC, but welcomes any projects.
