ABOUT
Maya Strauss (she/her) is a lighting designer based in Baltimore. Maya first trained as a stage manager and dramaturg before pursuing lighting design, bringing a love of storytelling (and good paperwork!) into her work.
Maya believes in the power of art as a force of radical good. She strives to tell stories as a form of empathy, prioritizing collaboration, care, and community impact.
A recent graduate of the lighting design program at Rutgers University, Maya specializes in theater and dance with additional experience in concerts, film, live events, and architectural installs. From working Off-Broadway to site-specific venues, Maya is adaptable to each distinct project.
When not working, she enjoys all things soccer, upcycling, and photography.
Maya is currently local to the DMV area.
